My Top Three NBA Shooting Guards

Who I have as the three best SG's in the league this season.

🎯Top 3 Shooting Guards🏀

We did point guards, now it is time for the shooting guard position. I do have a few honorable mentions…First, Paul George; I was unsure whether I should have him as a SG or a SF so I decided not to put him in at all. Next, Jaylen Brown, is so good and he is an all-star for a reason, but I think the team around him is too good for him to be top 3 at his position, he doesn’t have to do too much for them to be good. Finally, CJ McCollum, he is having an underrated season, he missed some time but he also is averaging 18 on a good team in the West. Now time for the top three…

Three

  • Anthony Edwards

To my surprise, the Timberwolves are tied for the one seed in the west with a 40-17 record as of today. They are the best defensive team in basketball thanks to Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels. On the offensive side, they are not as good but are able to stay afloat thanks to Ant-Man. He is putting up 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists a night on 46/38/88 shooting splits. If he can continue this and the Timberwolves can stay healthy, they are a scary matchup for any team in the West.

Two

  • Devin Booker

Before I looked into it, I was prepared to put Book at the No.1 spot but upon my research🤓 I was willing to drop him to number 2. He is having another great year on good efficiency with 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists on 49/37/87 splits. The main reason he is not 1 is because of team success. The Suns are just out of the play-in and hold the 6th seed in the Western Conference. They had a good deadline so I think they will remain out of the play-in and stay a top 6 team. If KD wasn’t there, I would see him being higher due to the more shots he would take, but as of right now. He is my number 2.

One

  • Donovan Mitchell

Well well well. Just a couple of months ago we were making up Dono trades to the Knicks because of the struggling Cavs, but look at where we are now. the Cavs are the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference thanks to Donovan Mitchell. They’re second and third-best players missed extended time and everyone counted them out. Surprising everyone, they got better when they were hurt and became the league’s 2nd best defense behind Minnesota. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 28 ppg, 5 rpg, 6 apg, and over a steal a game. He is doing this at an elite level. if he can keep this up along with a healthy Cavs team, they can make a run. I do not think they would be able to beat the Celtics or Knicks, but it would be amazing to watch any series they play in.

These are three two guards that could all go either way and you would not be wrong. All of these guys are playing some of the best basketball of their careers and are leading their teams to a great season. Having someone like Ant, Book, and Dono will benefit greatly in a tight playoff race. At any moment these guys can pop off for 50+ points and that comes in handy during the postseason. Let me know what you all think about the rankings. Next week…Small Forwards (it is really hard to rank).

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
