My Top 3 NBA Small Forwards!

This was the hardest one yet

šŸ§‘šŸ»ā€āœˆļøTop 3 Small ForwardsšŸ€

This is the first time I will be doing a ā€˜marathon’ for the newsletter. I will be doing small forwards, power forwards, and centers all back to back to back this week. This edition will be the small forward rankings and I am pretty worried how this will turn out. Let’s get right into it…

Three

  • LeBron James is in year 21 of his NBA c career and is still a top 3 player at his position. This year LeBron is putting up 25/7/8 a night as he is probably still the best player on the Lakers. The only downside, he is currently sitting at the 10 seed in the West barely holding onto a play-in spot. If it weren’t for the Lakers sucking, he would maybe be a top 2 player for this position. Also, congrats on 40K points.

Two

  • Kawhi Leonard

The Klaw. One of my favorite players (as a Clippers fan) is playing his heart out. Post all-star break hasn’t been as good but up to that point he was playing insane. There was a stretch where I think he was putting up 25 points a night on 50/50/90 splits. As for the entire season, he is averaging 24/6/3 on 52/43/89 percent shooting which is insane. The shooting splits alone could have put him above LeBron but the team's success also plays a factor. The Clippers are sitting at the 4 seed but they have had moments as the 1 seed at points this season. I hope Kawhi can keep this up as well as stay healthy.

One

  • Jayson Tatum

The Celtics are the best team in the NBA by a fair margin and Tatum is the best player on that team so this should not be a surprise to anybody. On the season, JT is averaging 27/8/5 on 47/36/82% splits. Tatum is one of the league’s best players so this is not much of a surprise to me. He is great on both sides of the ball and leads the best team to the record they have; they currently have an 8-game lead over the SECOND SEED. That is the same margin as the FIRST and EIGHTH seeds in the west. The playoffs are going to be special.

The small forward position has historically been pretty stacked and these guys help that case. The small forward position typically has the captain of a team, a guy who can do it all on both ends of the floor, and LeBron, Kawhi, and Tatum all do just that. Let me know if you have similar rankings to me!
