Championship weekend has officially ended and we have our matchup for Super Bowl LVIII. I’m going to go through my reactions to the championship games and what I think will happen on February 11th.

Reactions

• Detroit Lions @ San Fransisco 49ers

Detroit…what happened? Up 17 points going into half to giving up 27 unanswered. This was a complete fall apart. From Josh Reynolds dropping crucial passes, a missed interception that led to a Brandon Aiyuk bomb, to Jahmyr Gibbs’ fumble. Missed opportunities to put the game away, but I can’t be mad about it. I love Dan Cambell and the balls he has to go for it on 4th instead of taking a field goal, they didn’t get it, but if they did, it would have sent them to Vegas to play the Cheifs.

On the other hand, San Francisco….you have a chance for revenge. thanks to a second-half slaughter, they have the opportunity to get what they should have had back in 2020. Brock Purdy looked like Lamar Jackson out there running for 48 yards, including a late first down that propelled another score. hopefully, this game shut up the “system QB” narrative that is going around because that was resilient and impressive from Mr. Irrelevent.

• Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens

When the world needed him most, he vanished. Lamar sold us, but I think it was a team effort. They could not block the Chiefs’ constant pressure which made Lamar move around the pocket. He overthrew so many deep balls over the back shoulder of the receiver that could have resulted in more chunk plays due to the constant defenders in his face. That Kansas City Defense is crazy and caused a lot of problems. The Ravens had so many opportunities but the Chiefs took that away from them, what stood out was the punch out on Zay Flowers' diving attempt to score that resulted in a touchback.

Mahomes and Taylor Swift do it again. Travis Kelce went ballistic and looked like what he should always play. 11 catches for 116 yards and a tuddy? Thats insane. The passing game was on point, but so was the rushing game they pounded the rock with 24 carries with Pacheco who had 68 yards and a score. Mahomes continues to prove the haters (me) wrong every year. You cannot bet against him in the postseason. But I think most of the credit goes to the defense, holding the best team to 10 points in an AFC Championship game is wild. Sneed is a dog, Karlaftis..dog, Bolton…dog, McDuffie…dog, Jones…Dog, Omenihu…Dog. Kansas City has playmakers on both sides of the ball which leads to tremendous success when it matters.

You would think that I have learned my lesson picking against the Chiefs in the playoffs every week, but NO. San Fransisco by 100. CMC masterclass, George Kittle legacy game, Deebo touching everyone. It is going to be a dog fight like it was in 2020, but I think that the 49ers come ut on top this time around.
