NBA Trades I Think Should Happen
What stars do I wanna see moved by the deadline?
šNBA Trades I Would Like to See Happenš
We are almost halfway through the 2023-24 NBA season so we have a good grasp on contenders and pretenders. Some teams are struggling to put it together and would greatly benefit from a blockbuster trade. I'm going to break down 3 trades I would like to see as a fan. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT know if these salaries will even out.
Warriors get another scorer, Hornets get young talent, Raptors free up cap.
Raptors Receive: Gordan Hayward (CHA) (1RP GSW)
Warriors Receive: Pascal Siakam (TOR) (2RP CHA)
Hornets Receive: Johnathan Kuminga (WAS)
Dejonte Returns to San Antonio
Spurs Receive: Dejonte Murray
Hawks Receive: Devonte Graham, Malaki Branham, (2025 1RP via ATL)
Bulls hit the Reset Button (kind of)
Bulls Receive: Kyle Lowry, Nikola Jovic, Duncan Robinson, (2RP, 2 1RPās)
Heat Receive: Zach Lavine, Ayo Dosunmu
Explanations
Siakam-Kuminga-Hayward
The Warriors are struggling and they could use the talent of Pascal Siakam. Wiggins is on a down year, CP3 is hurtā¦again, and Draymond is a maniac, so a steady 20 ppg would benefit them greatly. Although he is struggling on his 3ppt, he is still a long and athletic 4 who can play small ball 5 (which the Warriors love). On the giving side, Kuminga has already voiced his discomfort and unhappiness in the rotation and a change of scenery would benefit him greatly. He is a young, freaky athletic wing who would fit nicely alongside Lamelo Ball. This leads us to the end of Gordan Hayward in Charlotte, which has been a nightmare. He was signed to one of the worst contracts weāve ever seen and has been hurt constantly. They would trade him to the Raptors so that the Raptors get an expiring deal to spend in free agency to get more people who fit the timeline. As a Hornets fan, Kuminga would be a great addition to a defense-needy organization.
Dejonte-Devonte
This is highly unlikely because I think the Hawks would want one of their better young players such as Sochan or Keldon Johnson. But⦠the Spurs would be getting a real ball handler for Wembanyama. If you have watched any Spurs games this year, you will notice that Vic does not get the ball nearly as much as he should. He is a freak and deserves to touch the ball more than anybody, so getting a ball handler who would play well in the P&R would be a win-win for both players. Dejonte has not excelled in Atlanta because of the fit with Trae Young, but a return to San Antonio would be a great ārevivalā of his career. For Atlanta, They mainly would do this to get their pick in return and not necessarily for the players. Devonte has not been great since his days in Charlotte, but Malaki Branham could be a rotational piece for him.
Lavine-Lowry
The Bulls finally trade Lavine. He is not very pleasant in Chicago and the Bulls will not go anywhere keeping him, so this is a win-win. The Bulls would get some draft capital to use in the future and Kyle Lowry who could help Coby White continue his dominance. They would also get Jovic who is a young wing who hasnāt gotten a real chance. As for the star, the Heat get Lavine who is a great offensive threat who would be great alongside defensive gurus Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The only thing youād be worried about would be the defensive frontcourt with Herro and Lavine. Herro could end up coming off the bench and be a 6MOTY candidate to allow a potential lineup of Lavine, Butler, Jaquez, Adebayo, and Caleb Martin.
Conclusion
Odds are that there would be more teams involved in these trades but this is all my brain could comprehend. As a sort of Hornets fan, I would love Kuminga but my hopes are very low. Let me know if you think these are mutually beneficial or if they are lopsided.
